What`s Happening with Penn And Teller – Fool Us?

Fool Us was filmed at Fountain Studios in London, England (season one) and the Penn and Teller Theater at Las Vegas (season two onward). Each time a show is performed, when Penn & Teller cannot figure out how a trick was performed, and the magician(s) who performed it win a Fool Us trophy and a five-star flight in Las Vegas to perform as the opening act in Penn & Teller`s show, which is also held at the Rio Hotel & Casino.

The 12th season began on October 10, 2021.

Teller says that doublespeak lets you instruct people on new techniques without divulging the secrets.

If the trick is genuine, or Penn & Teller are unable to determine how the trick was done the magician is awarded a Fool Us award and the chance to be the opening act of Penn & Teller`s Las Vegas show.

A backstage judge who is knowledgeable in the art of magic and has seen the trick before the performance, makes all necessary modifications, regardless of whether Penn & Teller were fooled and, if they were, to what degree.

After each program, Penn & Teller perform an original magic act.

Penn and Teller have a good relationship with the magicians that appear during their program. Penn and Teller`s hosting tasks were temporarily handled from Jonathan Ross in the first season, and then they returned for the second season onward. expert illusionist Jon Finch, Penn and Teller have a close relationship with magicians who perform on their show. Certain acts, like the ones from Paul Vigil, are invited to perform with Penn & Teller`s Las Vegas magic show.

In season 4, the top ten magicians who were able to fool Penn and Teller were invited back to appear in a special episode of Fool Us in which they each get to perform their act once further and attempt to fool Penn and Teller to win a $20,000 prize. The magicians are also required to perform during an intermission during Penn & Teller`s live Las Vegas show, where viewers aren`t conscious of the illusion is performed in their place.

Even though they remain taciturn and still throughout the course during the performance, Penn & Teller will communicate with one by making subtle gestures. They may also communicate with the magician who is performing and request them to repeat a certain act or give more details.

In 2018, Penn and Teller have published books about deceit, created instructional videos on card technique, and presented a magic show called Penn & Teller: Trick Us.
